sweats

I never really thought of myself as one of those people who not only lounges around but goes out in public in sweats. However, in anticipation of this recent surgery and of the chemo to come, I took myself over to Saks and bought me some fancy juicy couture chocolate brown sweats in which to lounge about and occasionally be seen in public. They are quite comfy but have a little stylishness to them, so I don't feel SO much like a slug. Heather was disappointed that they don't say "juicy" across my ass, but hey, I still have a tiny bit of decorum, despite having joined the sweats-wearing community. I like them so much, in fact, that I have worn them three days straight now (yes, I've washed them, I'm not that gross!). I'm thinking I may need to add to my fancy lounging wardrobe; any recommendations are appreciated.

Feeling better today, a little less pain under my arm. The most annoying thing is that drain, it just sticks out and is really awkward. The incisions themselves are not too bad. I'll be really glad when the drain comes out (although I'm terrified about them actually taking it out... ugh).

Also, the other piece of information about my cancer is that it is HER2 negative. That's a mixed bag, because being HER2 positive would mean getting Herceptin, which is a very effective treatment. But ultimately, it's probably better to be negative, and just not have to worry about that aspect of it, because the treatment has a 50% success rate, which is huge, but if I don't have it in the first place, it's better. Next week (I think), we will get the pathology on the lymph nodes and the margins. I'm pretty nervous about these results, but the treatment will probably be the same no matter what. One day at a time. And with my fancy sweats, I'm stylish and comfortable, and can handle anything!
