Pink

I am so relieved it is November, not only because it marks the end of chemotherapy, but also because it is no longer Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the ubiquitous pink ribbons, pink lights on buildings, pink water in fountains, etc., will, like the autumn leaves, change color to whatever is the new disease-of-the-month. Not that I don't appreciate all the funding and emotional support; I am not trying to be a grouch. But it's just so in-your-face, all the pink marketing, and it was getting to be a little overwhelming. I mean, if I got a breast cancer discount at, like, Anthropologie, then it might be a different story. But I don't see that happening.
