A correction to the last post

I have been chastised for not being accurate in my depiction of radiation therapy because I chose to be photographed with my hospital gown still ON. Yes, I admit, not clinically true. But please allow me the few shreds of modesty that I have left! It's an approximation. Sheesh.

This week, I started the "boost" dose, which focuses on the area where the tumor was. Thankfully, it's much faster (about 30 seconds). My skin, so far, is not too bad. The worst is my clavicle which is very red, but in the next few days I expect that to improve. Also this week, I started two weeks of manual lymph drainage massage with the physical therapist to help with my mild lymphedema. The idea is to awaken the lymph nodes in other parts of the body to help drain the affected arm. It's a very subtle, gentle kind of massage, quite soothing. Following this, I will be evaluated to participate in a study about hyperbaric oxygen therapy and lymphedema. How cool does that sound? Me and the coal miner.

And, on a separate topic... I was quoted today in an article about finding things. The best part is the irony of where this quote appears: in the middle of being aggressively treated with the latest medical technologies, I'm interviewed by the Christian Science Monitor!

Saw the CSM article and really enjoyed it -- especially seeing you quoted, famous person that you are. No mention of the "C" word. How refreshing.

So, am i supposed to save my shopping lists and paper scraps and send them to you??????

Grocery lists cannot be saved and sent; they can only be found!
