Anticipate miracles

Last night, I went to see a friend of a friend, although I also know her from when I taught at Penn Charter. She's a breast cancer survivor and now practices healing touch therapy. On the door of her adorable, comfortable, and perfect little house, there was a sign: "Anticipate miracles."

Her therapy was relaxing and peaceful, and she is a warm, loving, and deeply spiritual woman. What I learned last night is that I need to focus on not just the possibility of a miracle, but on the actuality of one. I need to feel it with my whole being, and I need everyone else to feel it too. Miracles happen, and a miracle WILL happen to me. It has to; there is no other alternative. Any bit of doubt needs to be swept from my body and mind. This is going to work.

On that note, I started chemo today: Avastin and Zometa. Miracles need good drugs in addition to strong wills and fervent wishes. Everything went fine, and I feel pretty good. I am thankful for every moment that I feel good.

There is so much love that I feel, for everyone and from everyone. This above all will make a miracle happen.

Finally, let me just send a big shout-out to all the LGHS alumni out there. I'm so happy to be connected to you all again.

With love,
Rachel

I always liked this quote
“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”
