Tuesday report

Chemo today. I was being interviewed yesterday for an article that is going to appear on the Philadelphia Maven website. The writer asked how I deal with going in for chemo each week. I guess I'm just used to it. It's part of my routine. Tuesdays with Carbo. I get nervous each time, afraid that Dr. Glick will find something new and unwanted. But today was another good report - my liver is still shrinking, so much so that he had a hard time finding the edge. Smaller and smaller. I'll have treatment again next week, and the week after a CT scan. Glick said he's sure that it will show a vast improvement, and if it doesn't, he won't believe it. I'm looking forward to comparing this scan with the first one (which I didn't look at out of total fear: those things are in my liver?? I just couldn't bear to see that). But I want to see the improvement! That will be very satisfying.

Now that I feel better, life has gotten back into the swing of normal, besides our weekly trips to the hospital. Mom and Dad are able to enjoy going on short vacations; they don't have to be here constantly to do my laundry and make food. Jason and I take advantage of the great restaurants in our neighborhood, and last weekend went up to the Poconos to stay with friends at their cabin and ride around on their speedboat. It's fantastic! There are so many things to look forward to with LympheDIVAs, and guess what? I might be blogging for LifetimeTV.com. It's not totally officially yet (I haven't gotten the contract), but they found my blog and asked me to write for them three times a week during October! I'm a bit nervous about it, but mostly excited. It's pretty amazing where life will take you. I'm really enjoying the ride right now.

When you just keep putting one foot in front of the other, it's surprising where life can take you. I'm not surprised that others appreciate your superior blogging. You have such a gift for writing and sharing how you feel. Here's to your gloriously healthy liver! It's great to hear you enjoying your life so much.

You're a natural for a nationally- syndicated blog. If those cold-hearted ice queens at Lifetime don't recognize your crisp, sharp writing style and your thought-provoking insight, well, I'm canceling my Comcast subscription. End of freakin' story.

Rock on Rachel.
You are inspiraton.
I am a little late in adding the comment re: your "Objective
Review". I did not see the show but the advertisements and name of the program did not settle right with me.
For anyone who can do some kind of preemptive strike to avoid this diagnosis by changing lifestyle habits at a young age the title, "Crazy, Sexy Cancer" takes something horrible and tries to make it sound cool.

RAchel,
Just want to add my cheers for all that you are enjoying now. You deserve and have earned, the hard way, the right to have these pleasant times. Will look forward to Lifetime even more now, knowing you are a part of it.
