Censored!

Exciting news for the day: I wrote an entry for the Lifetime blog that was censored! Well, not censored exactly, but I chose to withdraw it. This is me being subversive: I critiqued the "breast cancer industry" at large by talking about how much money goes into marketing and how little filters down to actual individuals. I mentioned the bike shop benefit and how I thought that was a successful fundraiser because it was actually benefitting a person, Andrea, and not some large organization that seems to profit from the pink ribbon fad. Needless to say, this was not a big hit with the Lifetime folks, so either I could add something in about how Lifetime's partners during breast cancer month are exempt from my critique, or I could write a new entry. I chose the latter.

Anyhoo, things are going okay. I was in the cancer center last week because I was concerned that I'd developed cellulitis in my lymphedema arm; it was red and warm. I didn't have a fever, but I wanted to make sure. Just to be safe, Carrie started me on antibiotics on Wednesday. I also got approval from my insurance company to get the Procrit shot (not sure why it had been denied in the first place).

I have chemo scheduled for tomorrow; hopefully my counts will be good enough.

Way to go for speaking your mind as eloquently and inspiring as you do. If your "friends" at Lifetime got their feathers ruffled, well...OH WELL. The constant in all of this is that your personal journey has become OURS! We are so greatful to have the opportunity to share this with you, to pray along with you and we are incredibly inspired by your courage and honesty. That's something that just might be missing from the Lifetime entries! Just my opinion...

Anyway, off the soap-box, we'll be thinking about you tomorrow and I hope your arms feels better. Oh, and one more thing...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Sunday!!!! Enjoy and celebrate.

xoxoxo,

Barb
