Gaining weight and molting
This has been a really good week. Besides some nose bleeds, I haven't really experienced any significant side effects of the treatment. And since the cancer seems to be getting better, I feel better overall. It's quite fantastic. I've also been working on the weight gain. It isn't easy. I get full, but I know that I need to keep eating. I've made myself sick a couple of times (not literally, just that gross eating-too-much feeling that makes you want to take a nap). And I've enjoyed dessert - ice cream, brownies, cheesecake. It's luxurious. I've gained about 3 lbs so far; I think I have another 5-7 to go.
The only other itsy bitsy side effect, which no one seems to understand, is a pattern of scaliness on my back that vaguely resembles stretch marks. It covers my entire back, little reddish brown squiggly lines that don't itch or hurt, but just look reallly dry. Maybe I'm molting? It may just be dry skin, but it doesn't go away with moisturizing. I will see a dermatologist. Dr Glick doesn't know what it is, but he said it's not cancer, so as long as we can exclude that and it's not really bothering me (and I can't see it), I don't really care.
This upcoming week will be an excellent chemo-free week. I'm feeling great and grateful.

Sounds like Jason should get some nice massage oils and rub them on your back and...well, you guys can figure out the rest :-) sweet dreams sweet rachel.
Rachel,
yay!! This is so, so good. Enjoy each day and remember how good you feel and keep that feeling with you during your rough patches. That will help you. I'm just delighted and thinking about you every day.

leigh,
I hve skin discoloration going down the left side of my neck. I was told it was skin changes from the Chemo. It does not bother me either. Maybe they look like "Age" spots but to me they are my "survivor spots"
