Good week
This has been a good week. I think my body is finding a certain stasis and adapting to the medications. I've been able to do things like: laundry; drive; work; walk for a mile on the treadmill; go out to dinner; enjoy food; take Nikita on walks. And I find that I'm truly happy. Sure, this isn't the best situation, but given the circumstances and the way my body and mind are handling them, it's really not that bad.
My hair is still an issue. I have not shaved yet, and my plan now is to just let it all fall out gradually. Not that I'm in denial; I know it's all coming out eventually. I'm just holding on as long as possible. And I've been wearing the wig, which is perfectly fine and looks cute (I will post a photo eventually).
This coming week is my week off of chemo, and I'm really looking forward to that!

Oh that's great! I'm glad to hear you can go for walks and enjoy food...those are the everyday things that make life pleasant. So glad you're feeling better!
Love you,
Maren
I can just picture you walking with Nikita, smelling grass and trees and flowers, hearing birds, smiling as Nikita tries to pull you after a squirrel, and looking with a certain sadness at all those people walking around you who don't realize how lucky they all are to be alive. How wonderful that you are at a place where you feel like you're actually LIVING your life - and now here comes a whole week without chemo. Enjoy it all, Rachel, I'm smiling with you!
Love,
Connie
