I'm getting there

Today went fairly well. I got up early, but I'm still plagued by some tummy turmoil. So after some tea and breakfast, I got back into bed and woke up a few hours later. Just in time to get ready to have lunch and then go out for a LympheDIVAs appointment. If I pool my energy so I can do ONE thing each day, then I can do it. So that was successful. Baby steps, baby steps. I did walk on the treadmill (very slowly) last night for 20 minutes, and I'll try that again tonight. Just to get my legs moving. The pain is gone, I'm just trying to get my appetite and my sense of normal back. Please, please come before Tuesday. I can't go into chemo feeling like this.

So that's about all. I'm getting there. Funny, that's SEPTA's (local public transit system) slogan: we're getting there. I always thought it sounded hilarious because it implies, well, we're not quite there yet, but we're trying. I know there's the pun on "getting there," which isn't very clever; and considering they're almost always late, it's sadly ironic. I guess that all applies to me, too. Getting there.

Getting there. Well, I've gotta say, that's what really counts in the end. How you got there; how long it took -- doesn't matter as long as you got there!

Keep on truckin'
Love,
Mina
