Whatever it takes.

I spoke with one of Dr. Fox's nurse practitioners today. It seems that everybody is out on vacation this week except for Dr. Fox. Wonderful. Anyway, she said that the fact that the tumor markers doubled was just too signficant, and that alone warranted a change in treatment. The physical exam and pain from last week just further underscored the need for a change. She said it isn't useful at this point to do a CT because the huge tumor marker jump is enough, and the CT would just delay treatment.

The treatment is going to be harsh, I think. She said it's not as bad as Adrimycin/Cytoxan; nothing could be as bad as that. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to be feeling like crap. Still, my goal is to find the right treatment, the one that will start reversing the tumor and get it stabilized. Whatever it takes.

So tomorrow I'll meet with Dr. Fox, ask him more questions, and most likely start this new treatment. Hopefully, this will be the one.
