Fever
These past two days have been stressful. I woke up yesterday with a pretty high fever (over 101), so I called the office to tell them, just in case they wanted to see me before Miami. Well, not only did they want to see me, they wanted me to not take any Tylenol, track my temp, and come in this morning -- when they would get my blood counts and decide if I could go to Miami or be hospitalized again with a neutropenic fever. Geez. My temp was up and down most of the day, and by nighttime it was actually pretty high again. I was worried. I didn't want cancer to take this away from me. It's taken so many things, just let me have this vacation.
Jason and I went in this morning, they drew blood, and thank God, my white blood cell count was 11.1! That's even higher than it was on Tuesday. Weird. My hemoglobin was a bit low, which explains my tiredness. But the fever? Probably caused by the liver. Whether or not it's caused by tumor dying or tumor growing, we don't know. BUT, my tumor marker test from Tuesday was actually lower than it had been three weeks ago, down to 374. So I have to think it's tumor dying. I have to think that.
So, we are definitely going to Miami Beach. Hurray!

i feel like we're talking one on one, because just as i was reading your previous post the new one appeared!! maybe the fever is just your body prepping for the balmy miami temps -- enjoy the sound of the ocean and get some tan lines going girl...you deserve them.
Have a great time in Miami, Rachel!
Nothing's ever easy, is it Rachel? It's not like you need a lesson to remind you to be grateful or whatever. You've learned all the lessons you need. Enough already!
Bon voyage!!

The low tumor marker result is a fantastic sign! I bet it IS the tumor dying. And so now you can go to Miami and have a wonderful time!
Love,
Maren
Just want to add our wishes for the best sun, sand, beach, food, good time and fun Miami has to offer. Enjoy it all, you all more than deserve this break.

Whew, you've had quite a December. I read all the postings at one time from earliest in the month to the most recent. Would she or wouldn't she make it to Miami? When I finished the last posting I cheered. Rest, relax, let the warmth of the sun bathe you in its healing rays. You made it! Enjoy!
Hi- I'm so happy you're down in Florida -
I picture you basking in the warmth of the weather and in the warmth of your family and friends - Enjoy! Eleanor
