I need to stop obsessing!

Back home today. We had a good day, packing a bunch of orders. It always feels good to be diverted from Cancer World and focus on something really positive and fun. I'm feeling pretty good today, too. I'm off Xeloda for a week, but I go in for Avastin and Zometa tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, Dr. Glick's office called and asked that I come in earlier, at 7:45 am instead of 8. A million things run through my head about what this might mean. I know I'm getting the marker results back. I'm terrified that it's really bad news - a new cancer, a secondary cancer, a horrible flesh-eating ultra-rare cancer. Or maybe the marker tests showed something, and he needs to spend extra time with me to discuss. Or maybe he has an appointment at 8, and just wanted to get me in before that.

Maybe maybe maybe. I need to stop obsessing! I will find out tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, I have an appointment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering next week, for a second opinion. Not that I think Glick isn't doing a good job; I just think it's important to get a fresh set of eyes to look at me and make sure I'm on the right course of treatment.

And, LympheDIVAs is walking in Race for the Cure in Philadelphia this Sunday! All are welcome to walk with us. We are meeting at the bulldog statue at the corner of 25th and Fairmount at 7:30. We have super cool t-shirts for everyone to wear, and in return you will help us shamelessly market by passing out brochures to anyone with a "Survivor" t-shirt on. Hope to see you there!

Egads, how can there be no comments yet! Let me be the first!

Good idea to get another opinion -- and even another and another if it might help. Each medical maven sees things through the lens of his/her training/experience/philosophy etc. Another set of eyes = another approach. Who knows what's out there that could help you. In truth, you don't get a re-do in this fight. It's got to be right the first time.

Good luck publicizing LYMPHAdiva. You have a unique product and there's a great need for it!

What a pleasure to read your posting this morning. It's Thursday and I'm waiting to hear the results of your doctor's appointment. The difference in tone between the May 8 and 9 postings is dramatic. You sound so much stronger that I'm sure you're feeling better. Your trip took a lot out of you. I'm glad you were able to rest and get back to work on LympheDIVA. You always sound best when you're giving to someone. Good idea about Sloan. They are always on the cutting edge. Ooops. Not sure I like the way that sounds... Anyway, they know what they're doing and have access to experimental treatments before other facilities. Hope you get good news from the doctor.
