Way too many sedatives

That was a long day yesterday. I had a big breakfast at about 7:30 am so that it would sustain me until the procedure which was scheduled for 4:30. But of course around 11, I started getting hungry. We left for the hospital around 2:15 pm, and when we got to admissions, I was happy to learn that they were already calling for me. So there wasn't too much waiting around. I got to the pre-op area and spoke with Dr. Tchou. It was all deja vu. I think I had the same pre-op nurse and anesthesiologist as my last surgery. Anyway, we waited there until about 4:30, when they walked me, weakened and hungry, to the OR. Then they proceeded to pump me with way too many sedatives, even though the anesthesiologist said he would titrate them and keep me between awake and asleep. Well, he didn't. I was out.

I woke up in recovery and could barely speak. Dr. Tchou came by and said that she was pretty sure the lesion was cancer. So now we'll have it tested and know for sure what the status of the tumor is, if it's changed at all. I'll probably find out Monday or Tuesday.

Jason and my parents waited patiently with me while I dozed off and finally around 7 pm (I think) I managed to get up. We got home and Jason made me a plate full of plain linguini, which I polished off and then promptly fell asleep on the couch. He got me up to get into bed, and I crashed there. I still feel hung over from those drugs. I hate this feeling! But I know I'll be better tomorrow.

I have very little pain right now, which is great. And I'm glad that little pimple thing is off my chest. I'm glad it's being tested and analyzed. I'm glad yesterday is over.

Rachel,
I'm glad yesterday is behind you. Now we sit and wait for some clear cut answers next week. Something for your army to pray for and focus on over the next few days. We will get through this, we're here and we're sending nothing but positive karma for sure.
